Bird -光のカケラ-

自由な鳥のイメージに惹かれて長年作っている鳥の作品。
流れ星の台の上に留まる、アメジストの目をもつBird。アメジストは二月の誕生石です。台にはジルコニアをガラスの中に閉じ込め流れ星のようになっています。
台の表面にはエッチングといって、針のような工具で羽を彫り込んでいます。
鳥の表面も同様にエッチングで毛並みを描きながら艶消しに仕上げています。
嘴はガラス用の漆を塗りました。

まるで藤のような淡い色の目。角度によって濃く見えたり薄く見えたり。カボションの大きさは5ミリ、くりっとしたおめめのかわいい子になりました。

“むらさき”という言葉は、染料にした植物の紫草（ムラサキ）から来ており、群れて咲くことから「群れ咲き」となった、あるいは花の色がムラになって咲くことから「むらさき」になったという説があるそうです。
また聖徳太子が定めたという「冠位十二階」で、紫色の冠を許されたのは最高位の人だったとされています。 紫色は、日本に限らず、さまざまな文化圏で高貴なイメージがあるようですが、紫色の染料が貴重で高価なものだったためと考えられています。

鳥の作品は展示会を中心に渾身の一点物となります。
