[Platinum]
Platinum (Pt), also known as platinum, is a silver-white metal with high density, stable chemical properties, strong corrosion resistance and not easily oxidized. Platinum is less abundant in nature than gold, and due to its high melting point (1,768°C), refining platinum is more difficult than gold (gold"s melting point is 1,064°C), so platinum is generally more expensive than 18K white gold. In addition to the above reasons, the silvery gray and cold white color of platinum itself makes it the first choice for setting precious colorless diamonds. Although platinum is harder than gold, pure platinum is softer and is often mixed with other platinum group metals to make inlaid jewelry.
