 1894年イングランド北東部に位置する港町サウスシールズにて創業。現在も存続する英国のアウトドアライフスタイルを体現するブランド≪Babour≫
今回はそんなバブアーから、乗馬用として開発された隠れた名品モデル<BURGHLEY>のご紹介です。
こちらのBURGHLEYは主に冬季をはじめ、耐候性を必要とする際の乗馬専用として設計されたロングコート。他の汎用流通のモデルと比べ、生産数、流通量が非常に少なかった稀少なモデルです。
コートの裾が左右に振り分けられるロングベント仕様に、腕の可動域を広げるラグランスリーブのステンカラータイプ。内側裾部分にはモーターサイクルコートにもよく見られるライディングの際に足を留めて固定するためのレッグストラップが付いております。乗馬だけでなくバイク乗りの方にもおすすめの一品です。
衿には肌触りの良いコーデュロイ生地があしらわれており、首元についたチンストラップを立てることでさらに防風性を向上することのできる仕様。フロントの前立てはスナップボタン式になっておりジッパーの間から吹き込む風すらも防ぐことができます。
通常の<BURGHLEY>には見られないフロントのフラップポケット施されたレザーパイピングはコアなファンの方には嬉しいユニークなディティールではないでしょうか。また、前立ての横には小さいジッパーが付く深めのポケットもございますので収納製は抜群です。
状態は非常に良く袖口の擦れ、ボタンやジッパーなどへの破損も見られず、いい塩梅に皺も入ったベストなコンディションと言えるでしょう。
色は定番のセージグリーン。サイズも“c36”と日本人の体格にマッチするグッドなサイジングです。
今後の入手が極めて困難な1990年代の希少な<BURGHLEY>モデル、お好きな方は是非ともこの機会に。
